Palpa is situated in Lumbini Zone as a District and its headquarter is Tansen.It is situated on forty three hundred meter above sea level.It is on the way of Butwal - Pokhara and we can reach there via bus from Butwal, Pokhara or direct from Kathmandu.Palpa is famous for Karuwa (A type of water jug). Beside Karuwa ,Palpa is famous for Dhaka kapada (hand made cloth).

There are two popular temples situated at Palpa.Siddha Baba Temple situated at the boarder of Palpa and Rupandehi District.The temple of Bhairabsthan is situated at around eight kilometer away from Tansen on the top of a hill.Lots of people visit this place specially on every Saturday and Tuesday.
Rani Mahal also popularly known as Taaj Mahal of Nepal is situated on the bank of Kaligandaki river.This Mahal was build by Khadka Samsher in the memory of his death wife Tejkumari.One have to walk around four hours from Tansen Bazar to reach this place.This is the bestiantion for the nature lovers.
