Udayapur District


Udayapur District is situated in the middle of Sagarmatha Zone in the longitude of 860 9" to 870 10" and latitude of 260 39" to 270 11". Gaighat is the Headquarter of this district. Major area of this district is covered by tropical and sub tropical climate. It is bounded in east by Sunsari, west by Sindhuli and Dhanusha district.In North it is bounded by Okhaldhunga, Khotang and Bhojpur District and in south by Siraha and Saptari District. A wide range of people from different community and culture makes this place as their common home. Magar, Rai, Tamang, Danuwar, Sherpa, Satar are few of them.
We can reach to Udayapur district via Bus from Kathmandu in a single day.There are many place to visit in this district. Gaighat, Udayapur Gad, Katai Beltar, Tribeni, Rautaha pond, Murkuchi Lake, Suke Pokhari are few of the attractive place.

Indreswor Mahadev Temple:
After a walk of around one kilometer from the headquarter of Udayapur i.e. Gaighat, we can reach the temple of Indreshwor mahadev. This temple is considered as holy as the temple of Pashupatinath. People from all community and culture have access to enter this temple.

Rautaha Pokhari:
It is situated in Rautaha VDC and is at about two thousand feet above the sea level. This pond is surrounded by evergreen tall forest.This pound makes everyone attract towards it by its unique beauty.

Triveni Dham:
Triveni Dham is the confluence point of three rivers Tawa, Kamala and Dudhauli and is a famous place for Hindu people.
