Bhojpur District is one of the hilly district situated in eastern part of Nepal in Koshi Zone. It covers an area of One thousand five hundred and twenty two square meter and is bordered by Dhankuta and Sankhusava in east, Solukhumbhu and Khotang in west, Solukhumbhu and Sankhuwasava in north and Udayapur in south. There is wide variation in altitude in this district. Hasanpur is situated at lowest altitude at a height of one hundred and fifty three meter from sea level and Silichung is situated at the highest altitude of four thousand one hundred and fifty three meter.
Due to the wide variation in altitude we can observed different type of climate in this district.
Siddhapur was the old name of this place by the name of famous holy place Siddhakali.
There are different stories behind the naming of this district. Some people believed that there used to be a lots of trees of Bhojpatra in this place that is why this place get its name as Bhojpur.
There are many place to visit in this district.Shiddhakaali Devi , Char dhunge mahadebsthan. Salpha pokhari, Kalika Devi, Selme, Dingle, Shyamsila, Hatuwa Gadi are few of them.
This place is also famous for Khukuri and Rudrakshya tree.
Hatuwa Gadhi:
This is a place of great historical significance. Before the unification of Nepal this place was known as Majh Kirat and this was the capital city. We can reach to this place after traveling around thirty kilometer from the Headquarter of this district. This place is situated in Ranjbas VDC.
Salpha Pond:
This pond is situated in Dobhane VDC situated at northern Bhojpur. This pond is popular as the largest pond of Bhojpur District. The crystal clear water pond and its environment attracts everyone towards this place.
