Jhapa District.


Jhapa District is situated in the far eastern part of Nepal. Most part of this place is covered by plain land of Terai. This place is also known as grain glossary of Nepal. This district covers 1606 km2and all the plain land are good for farming. Jhapa is rich in natural as well as cultural and religious heritages. There are lots of place which have its own important and can be consider as best place to visit.
A wide range of people of different community and culture are living here. Bharmins, Chhetris, Newars , Rais, Limbus,Rajbanshi, Dhimals, Tamang, Gurung, Magar and many other community peoples are here living together in peace and harmony. 

There are lots of cultural and religious places in this district. Kankai Mai, Kichakbadh,Satasidham, Arjundhara are few of them. This place also have the place name Kechanakalan which is at a height of only 60m from sea-level and is consider as the place of Nepal situated in lowest altitude. JamunKhadi Wetland is also a good place to visit whenever you reach to Jhapa.

We can reach to Jhapa via Bus or via air from Kathmandu. It takes around one hour to reach Jhapa from Kathmandu on plane while on bus it takes around twelve hours.

Kankai Mai:
The Kankai Mai is one of the famous pilgrimage site situated in Jhapa district. Lots of people from nepal and India visit this holy river and pray for goddess Kankai. It is belived that if you pray here with a pure heart than your wish get fulfilled. This place is full of pilgrims during Maghe Sankranti.
Kichakbadh:
This place is consider as the place where the army commander of King Birat name Kichak was killed by Bhim (one of the Five Pandav of Mahabharat). Although this place is one of the historically important place but due to lack of publicity it is still hidden.
SatasiDham:
Satasidham temple is one of the popular temple of Hindu. It is situated in Satasidham Village development community. It is really a beautiful place and people believes that if anyone pray here with pure heart than their wish get fulfilled.
JamunKhadi Wetland :
Jamunkhadi wetland is situated in the Jamunkhadi vdc of jhapa. It is a small place appropriate for picnic and short trip to enjoy the nature. The wetland with different types of birds, sky blue water pond with boats for visitor and a dense forest make this place really attractive. It is best place for viewing wetland flora and fauna.


Kala Patthar


Kala Patthar is a name given in Nepali or Hindi Language whose meaning is black Rock. This place is situated in the lap of the world highest peak i.e. Mount Everest. This place is consider as the best view point in Nepal.We can enjoy the view of Everest from its base camp to peak from this place. We can also view the beauty of Mt. Amadablam from this place. It is a black rocky hill which background is covered by snow capped Pumori mountain. 

It takes around eleven days and ten night to visit this place from Kathmandu. During the first day of our tour we reach to Lukla airport from Kathmandu and start our journey. We have to spend our first night in Phakding.On second day our journey goes on crossing green hills and small villages of Sherpa's Community.We reached to Namche Bazar on second day and visit whole Namche Bazar in third day. On fourth day our journey continues to Tengboche. Although the path is difficult but nature and its beauty force us to lost in it. Spending a night in Lobuche we reach to our destination Kala patthar on seventh day of our journey.

Due to the structure of Mt. Everest, we can not view Mt. Everest from the base camp but from this very place we can enjoy the view of Mt. Everest from top to bottom. Area covered with snow capped mountain and the rays of sun reflecting on the surface of snow capped mountain makes it look as if we are in the heaven. The chilling weather makes us feel as if a part of heaven is dropped to this place. From this place we can enjoy the view of Nuptse Nup II , Changtse and the northern flank and summit of Lhotse.

The area is not only the famous for hiking, trekking, expedition and climbing but also for the typical Sherpa culture. This is a really amazing place and if you love to travel and explore the nature than you must have to visit this place.



Chandragiri and Champadevi hills.

Chandragiri and Champadevi hills are adjacent hills situated at an altitude of 2561 meter and 2285 meter respectively.  Champadevi is one of the difficult hiking place because of its higher altitude and sharp slop tracks.
 
We can reach to Pharping via local bus from old buspark of Kathmandu. After reaching Pharping we  have to start our hike. The best place to start our hike is from Dollu valley. Dollu valley is situated immediately  north of Pharping. Fist of all our destination is to hike through the Champadevi Hill. This hill gets its name from the temple of goddess Champadevi situated on this hill. We have to travel north west crossing Hattiban Hight Resort. By crossing the dense pine forest we reached to grassy top of the hill.It takes around three to four hours to reach this place from Pharping. It is good idea to bring food and water during this hike.
From Champadevi we have to descend to reach Chandragiri. Cool and fresh air with no sound of urban area makes us feel as if we are far away from the town. The melodious song of birds and leaf of pine trees makes us to forget the difficult path and enjoy the gift of nature. After a hiking of two and half hour from Champadevi hill we finally reach to Chandragiri hill.

On a clear day the view from this hill attracts all the nature lover.It is the place from where we can view the four neighboring districts of Kathmandu. History says that King Prithivi Narayan Shah had seen the Kathmandu valley from this very place and and imagine to rule such a beautiful place.

After taking some images for memories and enjoy the view we have to hike downhill to reach  Machhegaun. It takes around three hours to reach Machhegaun from where we can find local bus to return back to Kathmandu valley.

It is best place for short trip and enjoyment and one should have to consider this place in first priority for one day trip.

Poon Hill


Poon Hill is situated in Annapurna region  in the Dhawalagiri Zone of northern-central Nepal. This is the best destination for trekking and one of the most famous view point.This place is situated at an altitude of Three thousand two hundred and ten meter.  

We can reach this place from Pokhara after a slow trekking of three days from Ghandruk.The trek offers the amazing mountain view,thick rhododendron forests full of birds makes us lost in the beauty.As we travel up ward the temperature reduced gradually and climate become chilling and enjoyable. We have to stop for first night spend in Tikhedhunga. There are well manage hotel and restaurants for visitor accommodation. We have to spend our first night here in the cold weather and have to start our trek early morning after having Tea.

We will pass through a rainforest like section covered in ferns and moss-covered trees full of different types of birds. We can enjoy different flora and fauna during this track. After a day of slow walking we can reach to our destination the Poon hill. As we all know our target is to view the sunrise from Poon hill so it is better to stay in Ghorepani. Ghorepani is the nearest village from Poon hill where we are welcomed by well facilitated hotels and restaurants. 

In early morning we walk through the slop to reach our destination Poon Hill in around an hour of walk. The view of rising sun and the rays of early sun striking and reflecting from the snow capped mountain makes us feel as if a piece of heaven is dropped here in this place. 

We can enjoy the view of Annapurna mountain it feels as if we are in the lap of Annapurna Mountain. We can take some memorable images in this place for memory.

It is best to travel to this place in between September through May but the trek can be done through out the year. During monsoon period the way to Poon Hill is wet and the forest is full of leaches. So it is not a good idea to travel this place during monsoon. It is also difficult to view the sunrise and the landscape due to the clouded weather of monsoon so there is no worth of traveling during monsoon. 

On the other hand, Although the month of March, April, October and November are popular months for traveling to this place but the trail and hotels can be full of crowd and we may not enjoy the peace of nature during this month. So it is best to travel this place during the month of December.Although the weather is colder during this month but it is best to travel this place during this month.

Poon hill is  a great attraction, the trek is great even for first time trekkers and the view of nature is heart touching. If you have a plan to visit Pokhara and spend few days there than you must have to think about Poon Hill and its beauty. It is really an amazing place for nature lover and trekker.



The Rolwaling Valley

 The Rolwaling Valley is situated in the North East of Nepal. Despite the fact that this place is not in the list of trekking destinations however it is one place that lacks nothing in terms of natural beauty.

To reach this place we have to travel to Gongar via bus from old bus park in Kathmandu.We reach Gongar after twelve hour of bus drive.We have to spend our night in this place and start our trek early next morning. If we start our trek early morning than we reach to Simigau by afternoon walking along the Tamakoshi River, we can observe beautiful waterfalls and misty hills.

 Simigau is located on the top of a hill, the view from Simigau is breathtaking and we can easily forget the discomfort of trekking when we reach this place. After that we have to continue our trekking through dense forest and gushing white rivers and reached to Dongyang where we can found a couple of tea houses.We have to spend a night here and the next day goal was to reach Na Village.

Na village is the last village before Tsho Rolpa Lake. There are no hotels available after crossing this place.There may be altitude sickness during this trek so we have to walk slow and enjoy the beauty rather than talking lot.We have to spend a night in Na village.

In the early morning we can hike Tsho Rilpa Lake which is among the largest glacier lake in Nepal. We have to hike through the rocky paths and crossed small streams for around two and half hour to reach the lake.

If  the weather is clean than we can enjoy the view of snow capped mountains such as Gauri Shankar.The view of lush green hill sides with grazing sheep and yaks and sky blue water flowing river forced us to lost in the beauty of this place.
This place is one of the best place for trekking.


 
 

Goshai Kunda


Gosaikunda is a fresh water lake situated in an altitude of 14,370 feet from sea level. It is situated in Rasuwa District and it has its own natural and religious importance.

It is belived that the origin of this lake is linked with Hindu God Shiva. This lake has its own cultural importance to the local Tamang community. There are lots of pilgrims to bath in this lake during Janai Purnima.According to the Tamang language the meaning of Go is Head and meaning of Saa is Earth so this lake is believed to be the holy land situated at a height.

We can reach this place from Kathmandu via bus, crossing Trisuli and Dhunche. After Dhunche on second day we have to walk a higher slop of hill. Crossing Khandi, Dhimsaa we need to spend the night in Chandan Bari. Finally on third day after crossing Chyolangpati, Lauribinaa, Buddha hill we reach to our destination Gosaikunda.We can also take alternate way from Kathmandu crossing Sundarijal or Melamchi. By crossing Suryakunda we can reach this place. But better way to reach this place is via Dhunche.

There are hotels and lodges available for accommodation. The beauty of deep blue natural water lake on the lap of mountains makes all lost in this attractive place.


Sabha Pokhari


Sabha Pokhari is one of the natural pond which have its own religious significance. This lake is situated at an altitude of four thousand two hundred and forty meter from sea level.This lake is situated in the lap of Lumba Sumba Mountain in Sankhuwasava District.

It is believed  that one of the wise ascetic name Byasa organized a meeting in the middle of that lake and perform a mythology speech (Puran) to eighty eight thousand sages in this place. so this place gets it name Sabha Pokhari ( Meeting Pond). There is still the place where Byasa sit for the mythology speech (Puran).People believes that if anyone bath in that pond than their wishes get fulfilled. It is also believed that childless couple get child if they pray here with pure heart and bath in this pond.

The place is not only religiously important but it has its own natural importance. It is best place for trekking. If you travel from Khadbari than crossing Bhankharka, Mangmaya, Mansima, Khongrana Danda we finally reach to our destination Sabha Pokhari.We can also travel this place from Basantapur (Tehrathum) by enjoying the natural beauty. We cross Chauki, Gufa pokhari and Milke to travel towards this pond. Milke is the place where twenty five different types of Rhododendron can be found. We can view sheep and yak grazing on green hills, snow capped mountain and white cloud playing hide and seek with green land attracts everyone. In the lap of white Makalu Mountain Savapokhari is one of the most attractive place.We can view the different places of different district such as Taplejung, Pachthar, Khotang, Bhojpur and Tehrathum from this pond during a clear day.

We feel as if a piece of heaven is drop down to earth after viewing this place.This is one of the best travelling destination for Nature lover.
