Baitadi District is situated in far western part of Nepal in Mahakali Zone. It covers an area of one thousand four hundred and fifty one square kilometer. This place is bordered by Mahakali river in west, Darchula in north, Bajhang and Doti district in east and Dadeldhura in south. There is wide variation in altitude of this district. We can find the land situated at an altitude of three hundred ninety meter to two thousand nine hundred and fifty meter.
People of different culture and community makes this place as their common home. Majority of people in this district are Chettri.The main source of income of people in this place is agriculture but there are lots of attracting place to make this place a tourist area.
There are many naturally and culturally important place in this district. Nandanath Temple, Ishori Gangadham, Tripura Sundhari, Melauli Bhagawati, Gwallek Kedar, Patal Bhumeswor, Dilasaini, Deulek Kedar are few of them.
Ishori Gangadham: This place is one of the best tourist area situated in Baitadi District. There is no road access to this place so we need to trek to reach this place.
Tripura Sundari Temple: This temple is situated in Dasharatchand municipality of Baitadi district. This is one of the famous and holiest temple situated in this place. We need to walk to reach to this temple and there is no easy access road. But the pain of trek faded out when we reach the temple.
Bhatana Mahadev Temple: This temple is situated in Bhatana VDC. Due to lack of road we need to trek to reach this place. Although there is no electric supply to this place but there is facility of telephone communication.
